| Ikon scores A+ after helping Labor win
FEDERAL Labor's media agency of choice, Ikon Communications, has emerged at the top of a confidential list ranking media buying companies for its ability to win new business. The company, 90 per cent of which was bought by STW for an estimated $25 million in 2006, scored an A+ on the annual ranking, compiled by Paris-based research firm RECMA. While Ikon - which was ranked a B+ last year - beat five rivals for the top spot during 2007, OMD was ranked the top agency during the past four years. Last year Ikon won the $27million buying account for Coca-Cola and Sony BMG's $16million media business, as well as accounts for Thrifty rental cars, SunRice, McGuigan Wines and Sportscraft. The agency lost the Bulleit and Avon accounts, representing about $10million.

Food crisis will take hold before climate change, warns chief ...
The agriculture industry needs to double its food production, using less water than today," he said. The food crisis would bite more quickly than climate change, he added. But he reserved some of his most scathing comments for the biofuel industry, which he said had delivered a "major shock" to world food prices. "In terms of biofuels there has been, quite properly, a reaction against it," he said. "There are real problems with unsustainability." Biofuel production is due to increase hugely in the next 15 years. The US plans to produce 30bn gallons of biofuels by 2022 - which will mean trebling maize production. The EU has a target for biofuels to make up 5.75% of transport fuels by 2010. But Beddington said it was vital that biofuels were grown sustainably.
Spice Girls Say Final Farewell
So glad we made it, time will never ever change it ... " The Spice Girls, who last year reunited for the first time since 1998 and completed shows in Europe and the U.S., closed their tour with a show in Toronto Tuesday night. They were originally scheduled to go to Australia and South America, but family obligations and an already overextended timeline wouldn't allow for it. As for whether the Spice Girls are done for good or just taking another break, the ladies write, "We look to the future with hope and imagination and let Girl Power live on through all of you as it will continue in us and the future generations to come." .

A mentally disabled woman who had been missing for two days has been found in pretty good shape in Novato. Her relieved family says she is being treated at Novato Community hospital but should be fine. Teresa Valencia's nieces tell us they were particularly worried because their 28-year-old aunt functions as a 4-year-old. She speaks little English and broken Spanish. Police say a tip from a caller who thought they'd seen the woman described in news reports helped direct searchers. A bloodhound then found Teresa Valencia's scent in about 10 minutes. She was on a hillside about 2-and-a-half miles from the home she's been living in while visiting from Mexico. Fantasy Politics Posted by Mike Luery at 10 a.m. .
France may not answer Harper's call
We are fighting to help the country develop a civil society where the government is both democratic and able to defend itself from these terrorists. We are fighting for the rights of innocent civilians who have been subjugated by the thugs of the taliban and al quaeda. Perhaps in the result little girls will get an education and be able to read, and their teachers willl not be beheaded for having the audacity to think that little girls should get an education. I would think any self righteous left winger would be right there on these issues, but no - they are weak and afraid to see the forces of the west taking on these thugs. They would rather run and hide and hope the terrorists will not come here - which they already have -witness 9/11, London, Madird, Bali etc and their repeaed vow to destroy the west and commit further attacks on the west.
